Project Overview

Westlands is the largest water district in California , and has tens of thousands of acres of drainage-impaired land. Selenium content in their drain water has forced Westlands to disable drains on a number of acres, and agriculture production is thus impaired. Agrarian has constructed a prototype scale selenium removal project at Westlands, which is designed to handle up to 400 acre-feet of water annually.

Agrarian designed, constructed, and is supervising the operation of this project, which has the potential to provide a cost-effective method of removing enough selenium from drain water to allow Westlands to discharge it in an environmentally safe manner.
